Easy Pineapple Angel Food Cake

This is the easiest cake you'll ever bake. There's only two ingredients. You mix them together, and then dump into a prepared cake pan. I dare you to find me an easier cake recipe. I don't usually use store-bought cake mix, but right now given how tired I am when I come home from work, this is just the kind of baking I can manage.

For such an easy cake, it's surprisingly tasty and dangerously easy to eat. We devoured a whole cake in a few days for better or worse, but it's not bad as far as calories go, and there's zero fat, which is comforting. It would go great with some whipped cream on top, but given how fast we consumed this cake, we figure it would be safer to leave it unfrosted.

Easy Pineapple Angel Food Cake
(Recipe from The Frugal Girls)

  • 1 box angel food cake mix
  • 1 20-oz can crushed pineapple, preferably with no sugar added

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9" x 13" cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together the angel food cake mix and crushed pineapple (including juice). It will start to bubble and increase in volume.
  3. Pour into prepared cake pan. Bake for 33-38 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  4. Remove from oven. Cake will sink slightly in the middle. Top with whipped cream or enjoy just as is!
