About Me

Hey there!

My name's Kat, and you've stumbled across my blog.

I'm an amateur cook who has been in a serious committed relationship with food since I was handed a Krispy Kreme donut at the age of 3. Later, I was an Easy Bake Oven enthusiast and that girl in all your high school clubs who would organize bake sales just to have an excuse to make cookies. Despite my love of baking, I didn't learn how to actually cook until the end of college, but once I started, I couldn't stop.

Nowadays I spend a lot of my free time reading cookbooks and food blogs, and dreaming about my next meal. When I'm not doing food-related things, I'm a psychiatry resident. And when I'm able to scrounge up the money, I'm traveling to other countries and immersing myself in other cultures (and eating their food!).

I've been blogging for over half my life, and yet this is the first time I've splurged a whole $12 on a domain name, so I guess that makes this blog pretty special. What also makes it special is that it's the first time I've combined my two great loves--food and travel--into one blog. My goal with this blog isn't so much to create a travelog or a food blog. It's to write about whatever I feel like writing about, whether that be food, cool places I've been to, medicine and everything in between.

Have suggestions or comments? Shoot me an email, and I'll be able to respond. I love hearing from readers!

Thanks for stopping by!
